The internet was in an uproar a couple days ago when we all found out a Caribbean music festival that went horribly wrong. The festival which was called Fyre Festival looked to bring an exclusive getaway for those willing to pay but on day one quickly became a bust. Now while many of us got some laughs from Fyre Festival’s failure to launch; Seth Rogen took the chance to share that he and The Lonely Island are actually working on a comedy very similar to the actual Fyre Festival.
Following the Fyre Festival fiasco, Seth Rogen revealed that he and the comedy troupe the Lonely Island were secretly working on a movie that shared a similar plot with the canceled fest. “We were overwhelmed and just didn’t have the foresight to solve all these problems,” organizer says. “Next year, we will definitely start earlier””This seems like a good time to mention the movie we are making with [The Lonely Island] about a music festival that goes HORRIBLY WRONG,” the actor tweeted (via The Hollywood Reporter). The Lonely Island – the Popstar crew of Andy Samberg, Jorma Taccone and Akiva Schaffer – confirmed Rogen’s tweet, joking that they were considering legal action Fyre co-founders Ja Rule and Billy McFarland for infringing on their plot.
